On Sunday, October 24th 2010 PJ Development Holdings Berhad through its CSR Commitee held their annual PJD Group Kids Days at the Forest Reserve Institute of Malaysia ( FRIM ) . From 12pm to 5pm , almost a 100 under-privileged orphans from Rumah Shalon and Rumah Nur Hikmah were entertained by a battalion of PJD's volunteer staff and celebrity comedian Jit Murad.
Greeted with McDonald's kids' meals and chocolate Sundaes, the children then participated in many fun games throughout the event.
Because the event was open to the public , PJD Group had set up an F&B tent selling a wide selection of local delights at affordable prices. In effort to raise as much donartions for the homes , fifty percent ( 50% ) from the sales proceeds were given to the homes.
Apart from the sales, PJD volunteers went around with collection boxes to encourage the public to donate. However , the bulk of the donations were actually collected during an excercise that was started weeks prior to the event.PJ Development Holdings Berhad, together with its supplier as well as business partners and staff had raised more than RM50,000.00 in cash. On top of the cash raised, there were many goods such as food and electrical items that were collected valuing thousands of Ringgit.
Throughtout the event, the kids had a wonderful time with Jit Murad , PJD volunteers and some members of the public playing games such as musical chairs, 3-legged race and there was even a huge inflatable obstacle course that holds up to 30 kids.
 
 
At the end of the event, the kids went to the jungle track and many even took a dip in the adjoining stream. Making sure that the kids felt the least unfortunate; PJD Group treated the kids with an unthinkable amount of premium chocolates and ice cream such as Kinder Surprise and Kit Kats all throughtout the event.
In staying true to their CSR Slogan, 'Togerther We Build a Brighter Future', PJD Group through its Corporate Social Responsibiliy ( CSR ) Committee continuously searches for home that are truly in need so as to lend a helping hand.
This is why every year the Group's CSR Committee works with different homes via a big outdoor event, in hope to give these homes an opportunity to make them better known. In addition to this, the Group also tries to engage more and more of its suppliers, business partners, staff and communities within PJD's properties to get involved in social service with a purpose to create a communal and working environment that is more fulfilling.
